#1 Periodontitis

According to the Journal of the American Dental Association, periodontitis can be passed on from parents to children or between intimate partners. Bacteria can be transferred from one person to another through saliva, intimate kissing, sharing of food, utensils, or toothbrushes.

Cold sores are caused by the herpes virus, which are contracted through open cold sores on the lips or near the mouth. Although you're contagious any time a cold sore is present, the likelihood of passing it on, is the highest, when the cold sore is open and leaking fluid.

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is spread through open sores in the mouth. It is very common amongst children and places where there are high frequencies of children around, such as daycares and preschools. It is mainly spread through the fecal oral route.
