During a trip to Ecuador several years ago, the Van Eerden family toured the same special needs orphanage where Eddie had been placed. When Mrs. Van Eerden saw little Eddie, she fell in love with him instantly and the family adopted him.

When the family saw the boy in the orphanage they decided to adopt him. Ever since, Eddie is living a happy life with his new parents.
