In a nostalgic throwback to the 1995 MTV Movie Awards, fans have recently been left startled not by the eccentric outfits but by a jaw-dropping moment involving Cameron Diaz.

Little did she know that she was about to encounter an unexpected twist as she took the stage to present the coveted 'Best Kiss' award.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Diaz found herself forced into an unwanted and uncomfortable kiss with another performer.

With notable films like True Lies, Before Sunrise, Natural Born Killers, Speed, and Dumb and Dumber nominated for the award, Isaak attempted a last-minute entry of his own, but it was met with a less-than-impressed response from the Charlie's Angels actor.

Despite Diaz's clear discomfort, Isaak persisted, trying to put his arm around her and leaning in for a kiss.

Undeterred, Diaz maintained her professionalism, valiantly attempting to announce the awards despite the unwanted advances.

Maintaining her composure, Diaz raised her voice and leaned away from the unnerving musician. In a disturbing turn of events, Isaak positioned himself in front of her, causing the already uncomfortable actor to nervously giggle as he made yet another unwanted attempt to grab and kiss her.

Shockingly, the audience's response included cheers as Isaak arrogantly remarked, "I knew you'd come around," leaving Diaz in a state of utter shock.

Thankfully, in the wake of this incident, fans have voiced their strong criticism of Isaak's behavior, reflecting a shift towards holding individuals accountable for such inappropriate actions.

One fan said that the footage 'makes my blood boil', while another said they were shocked that 'people clapped and laughed' during the moment.

There were speculations among some viewers who wondered if the forced kiss was part of a rehearsed act, hoping that it was merely a scripted moment.

Agreeing with this sentiment, others expressed that if the incident was genuine, it was "too  much" and crossed a line.

One person commented on the clip, which has been viewed more than 5 million times: “You can tell in Cameron’s voice she was uncomfortable and frightened.

“It was difficult to watch.”

However, Cameron Diaz found a way to assert herself and seek revenge with the help of her Mask co-star, Jim Carrey.

Instead of simply reprimanding the inappropriate musician, Carrey opted to give Chris Isaak a taste of his own medicine.

While it remains unclear whether they actually kissed, embracing Isaak during the acceptance of the Best Kiss Award can be seen as a fitting retaliation and a symbolic act of poetic justice.

The film star, whose last cinematic role was in 2014’s Annie, explained: “For me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me.

“My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself.

“It’s the best feeling.”

She added that she realised at 40 years old that the part of her that ‘functioned at a high level wasn’t enough’.

In June 2022, it was announced that Diaz would return to acting by starring alongside Jamie Foxx, 54, in the Netflix action-comedy Back in Action.
