#1 Imagine being told that you’re too fat to get on a flight. Well that’s exactly what happened to plus-size model Rosie Mercado back in 2011. Weighing in at 410 pounds, a flight attendant on a plane from Las Vegas to New York told her: “Ma’am. You are not going to fit into one seat. You need to purchase another fare.”

#2 Sadly, it was not the first time when she was embarrassed by her weight. Once kids taunted her in Disney Land and she often got hurtful comments from strangers.

#3 After rejection, she decided to lose her weight and started strict diet and exercise routine.

#6 “I now truly love myself and appreciate every single moment that I live and breathe. When I was larger, I just wasn't leading the lifestyle I wanted. Now I couldn't be happier.” says Mercado

#7 For her modeling career, she said “They (modeling agencies) would contact me after seeing pictures of my face and upper body, neither of which were big, yet were shocked at my 65-inch hips,”

#8 The main issue was her eating habits. She said “I made some very poor choices, opting for fast food like McDonald’s burgers and super size fries rather than fruits and vegetables. My health was a low priority, and it was affecting everything I did, especially spending quality time with my kids.”
