Remember the show Roseanne, about a working class family in Illinois. The series reached number one in the Nielsen ratings, and became the most watched television show in the United States from 1989 to 1990. Roseanne Barr was the mother, John Goodman was the father, and Sara Gilbert was the daughter named Darlene.

Darlene was a young teenager who was full of angst. She started off as a moody teenager with a love for sports, and dresses in flannel shirts and men's clothing. As the show progresses, Darlene became an artistic animal rights activist, and a vegetarian.

This change in her character was actually inspired by the real life views of Sara Gilbert. Darlene had a steady boyfriend on the show named David, who was played by actor Johnny Galecki.

Sara went on to play Galecki's love interest Leslie Winkle on the show ‘Big Bang Theory.' Roseanne fans were excited to see the two characters back together again. Laurie Metcalf who played Aunt Jackie on Roseanne, has also had a recurring role on ‘Big Bang Theory.'

Gilbert has had acting roles on Will & Grace, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Private Practice. She also had a role as a smart but sarcastic medical student, Jane Figler on the long running hospital drama ER. Gilbert played the role of Leslie Winkle on ‘The Big Bang Theory' from 2007 to 2010. By January 2009, the writers didn't know how to write her character for full- time, but she still appears on it from time to time.

Sara can be seen on the daytime talk show ‘The Talk' as co-host, along with Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood. The show has been on the air since 2010, and Gilbert is an executive producer.

Sara has a son and daughter from a previous relationship, and in 2014 she married former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry. The two have a son together. Sara is 41 years old now, and she looks incredible. She looks like she has come into her own, and is having a successful life in the entertainment business.
