Jeff Sneider hints that the new silver surfer might be a woman in the new installment of the Fantastic Four movie as they plan to reboot the franchise.
Reportedly The New Fantastic Four Reboot Will Feature A Female Silver Surfer
Casting rumors regarding the Fantastic Four movie have been floating around for months now but all official progress on the final cast has been under lock and key by the MCU.
There is speculation that Reed Richards, our leader will be played by Pedro Pascal. With Pascal’s star shining bright in Hollywood, he is rumored to be joined by Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn.
While none of this has been confirmed, rumors with regard to casting have been flying all over the place.
Some fans are also confused as to why John Krasinski would not be called back to reprise his role as played in the latest Doctor Strange installment.
The most explosive response however was to one throwaway line where Sniedier said, “And yes, you can expect to see a female silver surfer."
For those unfamiliar with the Silver Surfer, the character has been historically presented as male.
Originally named Norrin Radd, the silver surfer was a young astronomer who served as a herald to Galactus, scoping out planets for Galactus to consume.
Radd is also a shiny, metallic silver humanoid.
However, female heralds of Galactus are not an entirely new concept with Frankie Raye, later known as Nova, having served Galactus in much the same way.
Earth-829 also featured Juno, who was also herald to Galactus and took up the mantle of Silver Surfer, unlike Nova.
We are unsure whether the new Silver Surfer will be an introduction to Juno or a gender-bent version of Norrin Radd.
While there is much we do not yet know, we are sure to find out more as we get nearer to its 2025 release date.
