Tattoos are always adorable. But the pain one has to suffer is extreme. The
latest tattoo trend is ‘scarification’. The painful process involves removing a layer of skin and flesh with a scalpel in the shape of your desired design – and then filling the design in with ink. When the area heals over, the scar becomes an elaborate tattoo. This is not any more extreme than someone getting plastic surgery, and it’s less painful. Here are some pictures that will clearly justify my point. Take a look!
#1 Pricking pins on the forehead is pretty painful.
#2 It is beautiful but how painful it must have been.
#3 These people are daring!
#4 Can't you do it with a colored pen instead?
#5 These images are sending shivers down my spine.
#6 Scarification looks very painful but the result is beautiful.
#7 They're letting someone remove slices of flesh from their body. It's scary!
#8 They're able to withstand the pain of the process.
#9 Scarification is an art.
#10 Scarification is mainly done because it is a more extreme way of modifying the body and is considered more “out there” and “bizarre”.
#11 I can't understand why someone would do this but this is a pretty pic.
#12 Successful scarification takes a lot of effort from both the artist and the client.
#13 People enjoy the feeling of healed scars.
#14 It's not only the artist that creates the scar, it's your body too. Everybody scars differently, so a technique that works great for one person may look horrible on another.
#15 I am really impressed by the work but I wouldn't have that done. It looks painful.
#16 There is beauty in the pain!
