But Elsa had nothing to do with this mess. It all began when overnight a huge water main break erupted and merged with sub zero temperatures. It was far from a fairytale for those effected.
#2 Ice Covered An Entire Neighborhood
Residents in one neighborhood woke in the morning to a frozen nightmare. The ice created a surreal icy landscape that almost looked sculpted in places. While the scenes may have looked beautiful, the situation itself was dangerous, and when the reality set in, the Red Cross had to come and assist with those in the middle of the icy disaster.
#3 Ice Covered Homes, Cars, And Power Lines
The water overnight sprayed over 300 feet into the air for hours and covered trees, houses, power lines, and cars. The twelve foot break left people rushing to pump cold water from their basements, but for some the backed up water and ice shut down their home heating systems. Over two dozen people had to be evacuated.
