It seems like Gerard Pique is going through a rough period these days as after voting in the Catalonia Independence Referendum, Pique along with his teammates including Messi walk out in front of thousands of empty seats in an empty Camp Nou and played Barcelona’s La Liga win over Las Palmas.

The Spanish player was then booed at the Spanish national team training and later gave a press conference in which he put forward his point of view on the referendum and tearfully offered to quit his position if his point of view is seen as a problem. He stated, "I think I can continue. But if the board really thinks I'm a problem, I will take a step back and leave the national team before 2018."
Pique further added, "I am and I feel Catalan, today more than ever. I am proud of the behaviour of the people of Catalonia. Voting is a right that must be defended."
