#1 To create the blanket, Kati used about 12 pairs of jeans to cut out 121 squares of denim.

#2 Each piece of fabric was a 6 ½ inch square, enough to make 11 rows of 11 squares. Make sure to get some pockets.

#3 Once all of the fabric was cut, Kati started to make her rows.

"Make sure to get all different colors and textures of denim spaced around the row," Kati wrote.

#4 After that, she started to sew and sew and sew until the whole thing was finished!

#5 When all her seams were done and every square was attached, she used an iron to help everything lay flat!

#7 The last step was to take the now sewn quilted jean project and place it face down on the floor.

On the back, Kati covered the jeans with her shower curtain, making sure the two pieces matched in size, and got back to sewing one large seam around all the edges.

#8 When she was finished, she was left with the perfect, water resistant blanket!

The denim is super sturdy and holds up so great and the pockets are great for holding your napkin or anything else the wind might blow away.
