Introduction

You need:

1 Pair Canvas-Sneakers (new or used)

Left over material, lace gives a particularly cool effect

material glue (this one is perfect)

Scissors

Razor blade

Paintbrush

And here's how:

#1 Cut out a piece of material so that it covers the front part of the shoe. If you cut it ever so slightly larger it'll be a bit easier in the end.

#2 Now spread the glue over the area that you want to make cooler. Be generous and use a paintbrush to spread it around.

#3 After a short time of letting the glue dry (until it is sticky), push the material hard onto the glue. Try to remove all creases and air-bubbles.

#4 You do exactly the same to the back part of the shoe. Cut the material, brush on the glue...

#5 ... and press on firmly. While you busy working on the second shoe, the first one can dry and set.

#6 When everything is firmly set, use the razor blade to cut away the overhanging material.

#7 Simply follow along the stitching as you cut. This is really easy. Just be careful that you don't slice through the shoe at the same time, because many of these blades are extremely sharp.

#8 And when you're finished your new shoes will look like THIS. In this example the middle section was also covered with lace. You can either do this or not - it's your style.

#9 As you can see, with this method there are literally thousands of different ways to upgrade your shoes and make them one-of-a-kind. So what are you waiting for? Get started!
