Two years after a young farmer disappeared, his remains were discovered, with a 'squatter' suspect reportedly leading authorities to where the body was buried.

Back in 2022, Dylan Rounds, who was just 19 at the time, is believed to have been killed by 60-year-old James Brenner, his neighbor.

Brenner was accused of trespassing on land near the young farmer's property.

The Box Elder County Sheriff's Office announced that skeletal remains found on Monday are thought to belong to Dylan.

Following a plea agreement, he directed the officials to the location of his burial on Tuesday.

The reason behind Dylan's tragic murder has never been disclosed.

Brenner had known the Rounds family, and Dylan's dad once mentioned that his son could have upset Brenner by accidentally backing into his horse gate.

Dylan mysteriously disappeared over the Memorial Day weekend in 2022 from Lucin, a small town in the state.

The Sheriff's Office shared: "On April 9, 2024, skeletal remains presumed to be Dylan Rounds were found in the secluded area of Lucin in western Box Elder County."

Brenner, who has a history of violent offenses, was arrested in June 2022 as the investigation into Dylan's disappearance intensified, thanks to outstanding warrants.

He had faced federal charges previously and was booked into the Weber County Jail, as per reports.

A statement of probable cause revealed that the last signal from Dylan's phone was traced to a pond in Lucin, not far from where Brenner was staying.

Brenner's trial has been postponed to May 2024 due to a conflict in his attorney's schedule.

Following his charge for the murder, KUTV reported that bloodstains were found on Brenner's arms and shirt, believed to belong to the deceased teenager.

In 2022, prosecutors argued that Brenner should be held in custody before his trial, pointing to his criminal history and labeling him a "serious risk."
