Movies are just one big illusion, right? To an extent they are, but every so often, some reality seeps through. When a particular director is trying to sprinkle something into their movie to heighten the realism, sometimes they take small steps, and sometimes they just go balls out and include actual, real sex. No, they’re not shooting pornos, but they’re going for a sense of reality that just isn’t as well conveyed when the audiences knows that these are just actors pretending. Given the fact that not all of these movies weren’t exactly hits, you may wonder why they ever bothered, but that’s neither here nor there. Keep reading for stars that really did it on screen.

#1 "Little Ashes."

When Robert Pattinson wasn't being a lame vampire in the "Twilight" movies, he was masturbating on camera. In the film, he didn't just pretend to have an orgasm, he actually had a legitimate orgasm. Bad as he was as a vampire, the man is method.

#5 Nine Songs.

When Kieran O'Brien and Margo Stilley had sex in "Nine Songs," they went all the way. Neither actors seemed at all shy admitting to this, but as fate would have it, they probably should have been. When Nerve made a list of the 50 Worst Sex Scenes of All Time, this one made the cut.

#6 "Performance."

Mick Jagger isn't just a sex machine on stage (or at least wasn't at a certain period of time), he was a sex machine on the silver screen. Starring alongside his actual girlfriend, when the camera was rolling on their sex scene, there wasn't any faking involved. The deed had truly been done. Apparently you can get what you want.

#7 Factory Girl.

Here is a film that may or many not have included legitimate sex between actors, Sienna Miller and Hayden Christensen. According to most viewers, it simply had to be real, but according to Miller, she's just really good at faking it.

#8 "Don't Look Now."

Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie are suffering parents in this classic horror film, but when they eventually get it on, there isn't much suffering involved. In fact, the actors were very much feeling the pleasure, seeing as they were actually having sex.

Remember that movie "Bolero." No? Well, that's because no one does. However, interestingly enough, Bo Derek allegedly got down and dirty in the film. Incidentally, her husband was the director, so perhaps this was part of some personal sex kink that they've been itching to try out.

According to Madame Noire, most people who saw the film thought the sex scene between the two main characters looked positively legit. That' because it was at least, according to some of the filmmakers behind the scenes.

#11 "Nymphomaniac."

When Shia LaBeouf has sex on camera, he has sex on camera. That's at least what the rumor was after the controversial Lars Von Trier film was released. His co-star has since called bullsh*t on this claim, but that's not to say it didn't actually happen.

#12 "Cruising."

In this film, Al Pacino is an undercover cop that infiltrates gay bars to find a homosexual serial killer. The murder scenes were cut with actual gay sex scenes. This film has fallen into obscurity due to critics claiming it is extremely homophobic.

#13 "Antichrist."

Another Lars Von Trier film starring Charlotte Gainsbourg that has actual sex is "Antichrist." This dark film showcases a bizarre marriage, with Willam Defoe and Gainsbourg getting it on in the woods.

#14 "Love."

This ambitious film aimed to represent love in a very real manner. It did it!

#15 "Wetlands."

This German film received plenty of critical acclaim, with rising star Carla Juri portraying an anti-hygiene young lady that likes to get dirty while doing the dirty.
