The dad of two reacts to the incident where a stranger dumped his range rover in his driveway space and took it after four days. Zakarias Haile says that he has no intention of renting out his driveway space, especially to those people who are trying to avoid airport parking charges.
Zekarias Haile, 51, has opened up about a weird ordeal that he recently faced after a random stranger parked his car in his driveway for 4 whole days. Haile says that the owner of the grey Range Rover was a holidaymaker flying out of nearby Manchester Airport.
Talking to the Manchester Evening News, he said: “Someone, without my permission, had put the car there and they didn’t care.
“I just went out and it was there. Then it was there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday - on Monday morning when we woke up it was gone.
“I was very angry but I resisted doing anything to the car – just. I definitely didn’t feel all right about it.
“We couldn’t access our garden and we couldn’t take out our bins."
Haile says that he was told by a neighbor that the owner of the car was wearing a “high-viz” jacket, which means that it could have been dumped there by a “rogue” parking firm.
The dad of two confirms that he has no plans on renting out the driveway space to those people who are attempting to avoid airport parking charges.
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that since the issue is not a criminal offense so the action could be taken through the local council or civil courts.
A Manchester Airport spokesman said: “We categorically do not condone the practices of rogue operators, including those that falsely imply customers’ cars will be parked in secure locations and whose activities blight surrounding communities.
