People with a weak heart should stay away because ‘Hereditary’ has been hailed as one of the scariest movies ever!
Sundance Film 'Hereditary' Hailed As Scariest Movie In Decades
Hereditary is a 2018 American horror film written and directed by Ari Aster in his feature debut.
It stars Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Ann Dowd, and Milly Shapiro.
The film premiered on January 21, 2018, at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight section.
It will be released on June 8, 2018
Reviews from experts have said the film resonates the same kind of horror that came from classics like Rosemary’s Baby and The Babadook.
Thrillist led the hype in its review, claiming that:
"The screams in the theatre were almost as frightening as what was on screen."
USA Today called it "the most insane horror movie in years," adding that:
"If you’d ever like to sleep again, then you should probably steer clear of A24’s latest horror offering."
AV Club called it the "most traumatically terrifying horror movie in ages."
Variety said it "is a domestic thriller about the scariest ghosts of all: the spirits within." And The Hollywood Reporter said it is "two breathless hours of escalating terror that never slackens for a minute."
Richard Lawson wrote in his glowing Vanity Fair review.
"I left the theater feeling a little rattled, a little spent, and entirely relieved that I’d made it through."
Along with being absolutely terrifying, critics are already considering it for early Oscar consideration.
Hereditary is the most universally praised horror film out of Sundance this year, very likely – if the reviews are any indication – to make countless "Best Of 2018" lists at the end of this year.
