Unsurprising to be honest
Surgeon Reveals the Four Foods That Will ‘Actively Poison’ Your Body and That You Should ‘Absolutely Avoid’
We all know by now that what we eat and drink plays a huge role in staying healthy. So, it’s no surprise that certain foods and drinks might actually be bad for you.
When it comes to these items, moderation is key to avoid long-term health issues that could affect your quality of life.
If you need a reminder about what to avoid, TikTok-famous cardiac surgeon Dr. Jeremy London has highlighted four things you should cut back on in your diet.
Once again, it’s not shocking to find that these are popular foods and drinks that many people consume daily.
Fast food
Dr. London is firmly against fast food. He mentioned, “Most of what’s available in fast food chains is ‘edible food product’, it’s not even real food.”
Fast food might be cheap and tasty, but it isn’t a solid foundation for a healthy, balanced diet.
While having a fast food craving late at night might be okay occasionally, don’t make a habit of indulging in this ultra-processed food regularly.
Soft drinks
Soft drinks are often paired with fast food, but Dr. London has a different name for them: “liquid death.”
These drinks are typically just sugar in a can and may contain chemicals linked to potential health risks.
They might seem refreshing, but they aren't great for your health.
Dairy products
Vegans have known this for a while, and Dr. London agrees: cheese and milk products aren’t the best for you, no matter how delicious they may be.
He pointed out, “We are the only mammals that drink milk outside of infancy and we drink it from a different species.
Think about it.” With plant-based alternatives becoming more popular, it might be worth considering switching to these or at least reducing your intake of milk and cheese.
Alcohol
Here’s a real shocker. The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies alcohol as a toxic, psychoactive, dependence-producing, and carcinogenic substance.
Despite this, most of us consume it regularly.
Dr. London warns that alcohol can be “absolutely toxic to every cell in our bodies.”
He stated that even “moderate or occasional use” can be harmful and suggests that it might be best to stop drinking altogether.
How about a Sober October?
