When a customer demanded reparations from Target to pay for more than $1,000 in groceries, a security guard at the shop punched the customer in the face.

According to a police report, the incident happened in Blue Ash, Ohio, in October of last year when Karen Ivery asked the cashier to seek their management about a bill.

Police footage shows loss prevention officer Zach Cotter, 28, punching a customer in the face in the name of "self-defense" after being followed to his office.

According to the cashier, Ivery persisted in bringing up reparations multiple times in an attempt to make the store pay for her bill, until the manager intervened.

The body cam footage reveals that she requested the presence of the manager to engage in a more comprehensive dialogue about the functioning of money and provision in their community, highlighting their negative impact.

“This is my Rosa Parks moment,” she said.

Ivery then reportedly proceeded 'aggressively' in the direction of the Target manager, according to the report obtained by the New York Post.

“Ivery kept berating her about reparations and her privileged life,” the report alleges.

The client allegedly started yelling at the security man after Cotter intervened in the argument and followed him inside his office.

He punched her since it was reported that she was in the way of him closing the door.

Cotter said: "I told her she needed to back up or leave. She started charging at me.

"I came all the way back into my office, into an enclosed space, and I hit her in the face. I have it all on video."

A police report seen by Mail Online read: "Ivery was very argumentative and confrontational about the whole incident.

"She was confrontational with officers on scene and didn't want to explain her actions that evening."

Police reportedly responded to the location and examined the video after deciding that Ivery was the aggressor.

She allegedly received a $110 fine and a one-day prison sentence for disorderly behavior.

Target and the Blue Ash Police Department have been approached by UNILAD for comments.

Social media users pushed one lady earlier this month to leave her job at Target after she posted about her meager pay increase after five years of employment.

Sondae had been earning $15.61 per hour before she got her bonus.

“So I was making $15.61. Now I make $15.92 — it’s a 2% raise, and I got 31 cents,” she says before finishing by saying: "Yay".

She captioned the video: "Love ittt.[sic]"

One TikTok user who claims to be a former Target employee says, "That's why I left after being there for two years." “Now I’m getting paid 22.00.”

Another commenter said: “I’m hitting my 5 years at Costco in July. I get paid $29.30 Monday-Saturday and $43.95 on Sundays. With full benefits.”
