Teen Fatally Stabs His Stepfather Because He Was Asked To Do Chores

Oscar Lemar Owensby, who worked at his local family sports bar, received fatal stab wounds to the shoulder, neck, and back. The incident happened in Aurora, Colorado. An argument started when Owensby asked his stepson to do more chores around the house and to help with household expenses. The whole thing started via text message until Nickolas got home and confronted his stepfather.

The police report states that Nickolas ordered Owensby to the basement bedroom. That is where he savagely stabbed his stepfather in the back, shoulders, and neck repeatedly. His mother ran down the stairs when she heard a commotion. Nickolas filmed his mother standing over Owensby's body screaming, "Lemar can you hear me? No!"

After the incident, Nickolas fled the scene by car but was later arrested by the police. Owensby died from a punctured aorta.

After stabbing his stepfather multiple times, Nickolas left the house and called his bother Kyle and told him about what he had done. He then spoke to the police over the phone. He told them that he would turn himself in after he was done saying goodbye to some of his friends.

Nickolas was arrested in his car in Aurora. Police found blood splatter all over the walls of his basement bedroom and a trail of bloody footprints from the basement to the garage. Nickolas is currently sitting in the county jail on a single count of first-degree murder and has been denied bond.

His mother or his brother have not commented publicly about this brutal attack and subsequent murder of Oscar Lemar Owensby. Nickolas' mother, Celena and Owensby had been together for 14 years.
