#1 Twitter has been plunged into confusion following claims Jack Black has died, aged 46.

#2 A message posted on Tenacious D's official Twitter page - which included a spelling error - on Sunday claimed:

"I'm sad to officially annouce the death of Jack Black at the age of 46, rest in peace brother." (sic)

#4 It was followed five minutes later by: "#RipJackBlack"

#3 A further tweet an hour later claimed:

"It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown."

#5 Most fans believe it’s a troll, as Jack’s publicist made a statement about death hoaxes just yesterday.

#6 The star has been a victim of celebrity death hoaxes

on numerous occasions and the latest one was reportedly started by a Facebook tribute page which claimed he died in New Zealand.
