The jury at the defamation trial was recently told that Amber Heard asked her former talent agent to share the apology letter that she'd written to Johnny Depp a year after their split.
As part of a pre-taped deposition, Christian Carino - a talent agent who had previously represented both the Aquaman actress and Pirates of the Caribbean star for Creative Artists Agency - shared alleged details pertaining to the ongoing case.

According to People, the text messages exchanged between Heard and Carino showed that the actress felt remorse after their split.
Carino, who described himself as being a close friend and confidant of Heard at the time, was asked about text messages he exchanged with her in August 2017.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp met in the 2011 film The Rum Diary and got married in 2015. However, they divorced in May 2016 following the allegations of domestic abuse by Heard on Depp.
Carino and Heard's texts were read out loud by Depp's attorneys.
Heard had written to Carino about Depp: "I've written so many notes. Can you give him one? I don't know how or where to start. There's no way to begin and all I have to say, but I have so many. Finally I am single, clear in my heart and mind. I just want him to know I love him and that I am sorry."

Carino said in his testimony that he "believed" Heard was trying to reconcile with Depp at the time. Heard's romance with Tesla CEO Elon Musk would ultimately end that same month in August 2017.
The text message sent to Carino in September 2017 showed that Heard wrote: "God I miss him," referring to Depp. Another message she penned from June 2018 read: "I text him happy birthday."

After her short affair with Elon Musk, Heard also started seeing Bianca Butti in 2020, and she welcomed her first child, a baby girl, as a single mother in April 2021, saying she was little Oonagh Paige's "mom and dad".
Depp is suing Heard for $50m defamation after she wrote a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.
