They were thrown together to mix and mingle on the Jersey Shore for the MYV "reality" series, but ended up becoming household names and friends. Each member of the cast has been through a lot since the show first aired, but it ended in 2012. Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the Seaside gang have changed quite a bit since appearing on the show, so what have they been up to since leaving the reality world for the real world?
#1 Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi (Then)
She was born in Chile and raised in New York, and she's not even Italian! She was a veterinary technician before starring with her obnoxious boyfriend in 2009 on MTV's Is She Really Going Out with Him? The network was smitten with her charisma and offered her a job on The Jersey Shore, where she stayed between 2009 and 2012. She was the lowest paid person on the show, at $5,000 per episode, but her popularity earned her and increase to $30,000 by shows end.
#2 Nicole Polizzi (Now)
With the series coming to an end, luck was in Snooki and her costar Jennifer Farley's favor as they had little to worry about when MTV offered them their own spinoff, but on Nov. 29, 2014, Snooki, 27, married her long-time beau Jionni LaValle. The couple are parents to three-year-old Lorenzo and one-year-old Giovanna. The mother-of-two will be making her way back to the small screen in another new show called Nicole & Jionni's Shore Flip, an eight-episode FYI series that follows the couple as they flip houses.
#3 Angelina Pivarnick (Then & Now)
After refusing to work at the t-shirt shop with the rest of the cast in the third episode of the first season, Aneglina was evicted from the show. She came back in the second season but an altercation with The Situation and Snooki got her a final boot from The Shore. In 2012, the 29-year-old star, nicknamed "Jolie," became the first Jersey Shore star to appear on Couples Therapy during the show's first season. Costar Deena Cortese followed suit several years later.
#4 Jennifer “JWoww” Farley (Then)
While many people assume that MTV grabbed as many people off the streets of New Jersey as possible to star in Jersey Shore, a lot of the show's cast members were quite successful beforehand including Jennifer "JWoww" Farley. Raised in New York, Jennifer attended the New York Institute of Technology and worked as a nanny before opening her own graphic design company called Jenni Farley Designs, Inc. She got hired for the show at the age of 23 and became known as the girl with the big chest.
#5 Jennifer Farley (Now)
She launched a clothing line just before the show wrapped but it tanked. She was given another show with Snooki that ended in 2015. She continued appearing on several reality shows and in a few films. She married boyfriend Roger Matthews in 2014 and now has a new son, the couple's second child. JWoww is as opinionated as ever before and continues to flaunt her stuff on social media where she has over 4.5 million Instagram followers not to mention Twitter fans who enjoy her outspoken support of gay rights that have led to online battles between Bristol Palin and former costar Angelina Pivarnick.
#6 Vinny Guadagnino (Then & Now)
Born and raised in a loving Italian-American family in Staten Island, New York, Vinny graduated with honors from SUNY New Paltz and worked as a political aid before making his reality television debut. He was never a very popular character, though he had several WTF moments.
After success on Jersey Shore, the 28-year-old tried his hand at a talk show with his short-lived MTV spin-off, titled The Show With Vinny, which debuted May 2013. The former reality star currently has a podcast called, Get Into It.
#7 Paul DelVecchio "Pauly D" (Then)
Resident Jersey Shore DJ and the oldest member of the cast, Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio of Rhode Island grew up in an Italian household and was working as a DJ after his high school graduation when he took his talents to MySpace. Casting directors who came across his profile and liked his look so much that they wanted to know if they could bring a camera crew to film a day in his life. Instantly becoming the most recognizable of the entire cast thanks to his unique hairstyle, TIME magazine even dubbed his fans "seriously rabid" as he took home the 2011 Teen Choice Award for Choice Reality Star. And, like fellow costars Snooki and JWoww, he received even better news during the show's final season in 2012the network wanted more of Pauly D!
#8 Paul DelVecchio (Now)
The spin-off show only lasted 12 episodes. Since leaving reality TV behind, Pauly D has had continued success as a DJ. In October 2013, it was revealed the 36-year-old star fathered a child after having a one-night stand in Las Vegas. Pauly D made his grand return to reality television in 2016 when he joined the cast of Famously Single and started dating singer Aubrey O'Day.
#9 Ronnie Ortiz-Magro (Then & Now)
He's Puerto Rican and from New York, and was shocked that he got the gig on The Jersey Shore. One of the biggest storylines of the entire series was between Ronnie and Samantha "Sweetheart" Giancola, better known as Sammi. He revealed that he had a very bad temper and anger issues and their romance was on-again, off again. The 30-year-old has largely stayed out of the spotlight since Jersey Shore ended in 2012 when he became sick and his appearance changed. Having since made a full recovery, the 30-year-old is looking like his old Jersey Shore self these days and has even rekindled his romance with Sammi after being spotted together multiple times in 2016.
#10 Samantha Giancola (Then & Now)
By the end of her collegiate career, the young athlete auditioned for Jersey Shore and made her series debut in 2009. She was instantly linked to Ronnie and the couple stayed together even after the show ended until their August 2014 breakup, "Sammi Sweetheart" lived a private life with her former beau Ronnie when they called it quits, she went on the record, saying, "I wish him nothing but the best. Right now, I'm focused on myself."
Sammi currently is pursuing her passion for fashion and has her own clothing boutique called Sweetheart Styles. She also participates in a weekly podcast called Just Sayin' where she dishes on relationships.
#11 Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (Then)
Mike Sorrentino, otherwise known as The Situation, rose to fame for his rockin' body and Italian attitude. The 25-year-old Sorrentino was fired from a fitness center but turned the bad news into a new opportunity and launched his career as an underwear model. He started on Jersey Shore in 2009 and quickly became the most popular persona. His saying "GTA!" (Which means Gym, Tan, Laundry) became a real thing and landed him endorsement deals with brands like Devotion Vodka, Reebok, and GNC.
#12 Mike Sorrentino (Now)
After the show ended, he kept going, appearing on shows like The Choice and Celebrity Big Brother as well as his infamous flop at the Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump, Sorrentino's life behind the scenes was actually spiraling out of control. Finally admitting his addiction to prescription medication in the midst of filming the final season of Jersey Shore, Sorrentino entered a Utah rehab facility in April 2012 for treatment. He was arrested for fighting in a tanning salon, and he was slapped with tax fraud for failing to pay nearly $9 million in taxes, which he pled guilty to in December 2015. Today, the 34-year-old seems to have his act together but looks nothing like his younger days.
