America is no longer the fattest country, but tell that to these States that have the fattest people in the US. Grits and gravy, anyone?
#1 The United States Is Still Among The Top 2 Fattest Countries In The World
The United States is slipping... we are no longer the fattest people in the world. But we come in at a very close second to Mexico. It could be because we have the most delicious foods in the world. (Again, second to Mexico. Love me some Mexican food!)
#2 It's No Secret Americans Love To Eat
No doubt about it, it's our deliciously nutritious American fare that keeps us in the running. Who doesn't like fried chicken and mashed potatoes? While a lot of people are not watching what they consume, it still puts us at #2 for obesity world wide.
#3 Research Says People In These States Are The Fattest In The US
From fast foods to fried foods, sweet treats to rich indulgences, nobody loves to eat more than those in the South. So it comes as no surprise that the 7 states with the fattest population are in the deep South, where deep fried food is served at almost every meal.
#3 Fried Chicken Is Good, Ya'll!
A recent study published by JAMA Internal Medicine names Mississippi as the fattest US state, followed by Louisiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
Of course, the weight issue is HUGE in most all of the US, but we must also include Texas, Missouri, Georgia, and North & South Carolina.
#4 Americans Just Love To Eat!
Almost three-fourths of all adults in the country are either obese or overweight. Men are more overweight than women, at 39.96 percent and 29.74 percent, respectively. This is due to eating habits as well as the way men and women see each other. Men just don't care about their weight until it's too late.
Being overweight or obese can cause serious health concerns like diabetes, heart attacks, stroke, high blood pressure, and more, so let's cut down on the butter and those deep fried Twinkies.
