The lawsuit alleges that Leviev 'defrauded, cheated, conned, and hurt women, men and businesses' around the world.
The Tinder Swindler Is Being Sued For Millions Of Dollars By The Real Leviev Diamond Family.
Israeli Russian diamond tycoon Lev Leviev and his family – including daughter Chagit Leviev, the CEO of Leviev Group USA – have launched legal action against the notorious fraudster at the center of the hit Netflix documentary for allegedly impersonating them and enriching himself in their name.
For a long time, he has been making false representations as being the son of Lev Leviev and receiving numerous benefits.
He even used the LLD Diamonds trademark to make his victims believe that he was indeed part of the diamond company and was a member of the Leviev Family.
Simon served two and a half years in a Finnish prison after he was found guilty of defrauding three women.
He also served 15 months in an Israeli prison after being convicted of four fraud charges but was released after five months.
Now the real-life Leviev family is suing the pants off their fake relative for associating their name with such uncouth behavior.
Ophir, the Leviev family’s attorney, said that this move is “only the beginning of a number of lawsuits.”
“Shimon Hayut is a fraud who stole our family’s identity and has tried to exploit our good name to con victims out of millions of dollars. He has no relation to the Leviev family and has no affiliation with our company LLD Diamonds.”
"I am relieved that his real identity and actions have been globally exposed, and hopefully this will bring an end to his unscrupulous actions,” Chagit added.
Announcing his new venture with a video on the site, Leviev told the world: "Hi everybody, I'm so excited to be here on Cameo. I'm Simon Leviev. If you want any blessing, any birthday - whatever - shoutout, I'm so excited to be here."
"Wishing you a great and magnificent day, everybody. Take care."
Speaking to Inside Edition, Leviev, said: "I'm not a Tinder Swindler. I'm not a fraud and I'm not a fake. People don't know me - so they cannot judge me. I was just a single guy that wanted to meet some girls on Tinder."
