The Worst Halloween Fails Ever

#1 Just Take One

When some kids go out on Halloween, they either get candy or something not edible, like an apple. Some kids have gotten treats such as pencils, stickers, erasers, and even coins. The kids who came to this house got something edible, but far from a sweet treat. Pickles! The note asks the trick-or-treaters to "only take one".

Don't worry about that, homeowners. Kids aren't greedy when it comes to shrunken cucumbers soaked in dill and vinegar.

#2 Very Creppy

Oops! What appears to be a giant chocolate chip cookie with frosting and a black plastic spider is ruined by this embarrassing misspelling. Sure it probably still tastes good! But if it's really 'creppy' then it's not something you want to serve your Halloween guest who were expecting something very CREEPY!

#3 Awww

Little Jimmy thought his costume was going to be a little more elaborate than the way it turned out. His parents must have been either very busy or very lazy.

#4 Home Decorating

There seem to be a lot of "easy-to-follow" recipes for holiday-themed foods throughout the year. You can find hundreds of thousands of easy, simple, DIY decorating ideas on Pinterest or Tumblr, but executing the design is a whole different story.

#5 Pintrest Fail

Professionals make cake and food decorating look easy, but with amateurs, it's a different story. This ghostly cupcake with whipped cream for the ghost's body and what appear to be M&Ms for the eyes looks easy enough to make until you look at the picture on the right.

#6 Nailed It

Another example of just how 'easy and simple'it is to make your own at home is this fine cookie with a vampire mouth recipe. Apparently, the guy on the bottom had just bitten into an old piece of candy corn, which as we know, was all manufactured in the 1950s and is just resold every year.

#7 Halloween Animals

There are a few scary animals that have become synonymous with Halloween and the eerie. These include spiders, bats, black cats, and flamingos. Flamingos??

#8 Spooky Flamingos

Well, this lawn ornament company came out with a Halloween decoration that features two flamingos painted in the traditional Halloween colors and packaged in a box together. While it deserves points for originality, you're not likely to see a flamingo hanging in your attic or on a witch's broom.

#9 Pet Costumes

A lot of dog owners enjoy dressing their pooches in costumes for Halloween. Some are good, some are bad, and some are downright psychotic. Some also fail, like this one. Not sure if the T-Rex is supposed to be eating the dog or humping him.

Even the dog has a "help me" expression on its face.

#10 Pumpkin Carving

Remember when you just took a sharp knife and cut holes in a pumpkin for the eyes and nose and then carved out pointy teeth for the mouth to make a jack-o-lantern? Well, that won't do any longer, thanks to all of the talented pumpkin carvers out there. Triangular eyes and noses and a boat-shaped mouth are things of the past. People now try to take it to a whole new level with intricate designs and carvings.

#11 Back To The Drawing Board

This person wanted to be one of those creative pumpkin carvers but, unfortunately, didn't possess the skillset to pull it off. What should've looked like a depiction of Thomas the Tank Engine came out looking like either a robot's face or a set of different lines, depending on your perception.

#12 These Are The Deluxe Version

Who hasn't seen Micky Mouse before? Cat ears are pointy, unlike a mouse's. This is something kids might learn in kindergarten if not earlier. The employees at this company must live sheltered lives to not know the specific shapes of animal ears. Even then, at least one of them didn't have a pet cat, or see a mouse scurry along the floorboards?

#13 Simple Costumes

Do you remember dressing up as your favorite character by simply wearing a shirt with the character's picture on it? Most people probably don't. Back in the day, you could just put on a different dress or clothes and a mask was optional.

#14 Hey, It's 3D

The company who put out this costume must have been thinking it was 1935. This alleged vampire costume only has a cartoon drawing of a vampire on the front and nothing else. This looks like a desperate company wanted to get a product out in time for the Halloween season. The funniest part is that it is labeled as 3D!

Well, at least they got it out in time.

#15 Poor Taste

This is parenting at it's finest. Let's hope this boy wasn't going to school in this adult styled costume. Dressing your little boy as condom packaging is a little tasteless but hey, kids need to learn about safe sex sometime!

#16 Chicken Nugget

This poor baby is frightened, and with good reason. The look on her face says it all. She is dressed as a cute chicken, but apparently that wasn't good enough for her parents. So, they added an alien coming out of her belly instead of something that actually had to do with a chicken.

#17 Very Obtuse

Yet another packaging fail by a costume company, this one is probably a little more embarrassing. Here, we see what looks like a sexy dark angel costume. Nothing wrong there, until you read the name of the costume. At least the other two costume companies mentioned earlier knew how to spell. But maybe they are just trying to sell a geometry demon?

#18 Now This Is Scary

A shopper's eyes may gloss over a misspelling on the packaging of a costume, but with a large display like this, it's hard to miss. Here, we see a large Halloween display that misspelled "spooky" by putting a "p" where the "k" should be. The display goes on to say, "You won't believe your eyes" and we agree.

#19 No Mixing Holidays

There is a fine line between mixing holidays and as if we weren't sick of seeing them all for sale at the same time in the department stores, some idiot decorated his yard with Christmas and Halloween displays. The owners of this snowman yard decoration probably thought the figure wanted to go as Frankenstein. Maybe these people should put a little more effort into their Halloween decorations next year, but at least they'll be ready for Christmas on November 1st.

#20 Here's Your Sign

Many elderly people live their final years in nursing homes, so they don't need any reminders that death may be just around the corner. This Halloween decoration in an assisted living home's cafeteria depicting a graveyard does just that, unfortunately. Picking a different decoration that doesn't remind these people of death would've been ideal.

#21 Deadly Diseases Are SEXY

There is tacky and then there is really tasteless. When a deadly disease hit the world in 2015 this costume company decided it was a good idea to make a sexy nurse who combats Ebola. During a time when people around the world were in a state of fear that the deadly disease could be knocking on their door at any time, this was one of the worst costume fails ever.
