A young man, Daniel McClelland, who'd managed to maim his face using his vape pen in his friend's car in a perfectly normal manner. As the car began to make a turn, the vape pen spontaneously exploded, blowing apart Daniel's bottom teeth and badly burning his face.

Jesus Matias, a friend to Daniel and an eye witness describes the incident thusly: "We were just sitting in my girlfriend's sister's car, listening to music, laughing and joking around like always, and we just heard a sound like a gun shot."

After the gun shot noise, Jesus and his girlfriend quickly realized that something was gravely wrong. He continued, "I look up and I see flames, we all got out of the car and my ears were ringing, then I realized Daniel was hurt."
