These Old Cartoon Intros Will Bring Back Some Fond Memories

Cartoons were a huge part of our years as children. Whether you rushed home after school to catch your favorite shows or curled up on a couch Saturday mornings, you never wanted to miss an episode. The best part of the shows were the catchy tunes they used for the show's intros. We bet these will bring on fond memories from your youth.

DuckTales

DuckTales ran for four seasons and had 100 episodes, and you probably saw every single one. The show ran from 1987 to 1990, and it was my personal all-time favorite. It probably had the most catchy tune of all of the cartoons ever made.

The Simpsons

While The Simpsons did not have a catchy song to sing along with, their instrumental intro is something most of us can still hum along to, today. What was great is that no two intros to the show were the same. Every intro features Bart writing something different on the chalkboard and the couch gags were always different too. Even the tune that Lisa plays on the saxophone is different for each episode.

Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers

These two brave little chipmunks fought off the bad guys from March 1989 to November 1990. Reruns were played on Toon Disney all the way until 2004. I do not know about the rest of you guys, but I sure miss this show.

Smurfs

Here is another one with no words, but the tune was super catchy. If you dare to play the video, we are sure that this will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Inspector Gadget

I feel a bit bad for getting The Smurfs song stuck in your head, so here is a better one. Penny and Brain were essential to aiding this bumbling detective in his quest against saving the city against bad guys. It was definitely one of my favorite shows. How about you?

Animaniacs

The Animaniacs was by far one of my favorite cartoons that the WB showed. I can remember rushing home from school to catch this show. And, their theme song is one that I will never forget. Sadly, this show no longer airs, but you can find the entire series in a DVD box set if you want to share some of the great moments from your childhood with your own kids.

Pinky and The Brain

Pinky and The Brain were such popular characters who made appearances on The Animaniacs that they ended up with their very own show. As children, we always mimicked the phrases from the beginning of the show for years to follow. Shoot, if I am honest, I still tell my family that I plan to take over the world when they ask what we are going to do today.

Tiny Toon Adventures

One of the things that makes this show's intro so memorable is that they introduce you to every single one of the characters through song. They even give away the premise of the show, so you knew exactly what you were getting into when watching it.

The Jetsons

The Jetsons intro introduced us to the main characters of the show through a catchy little tune. While this show was great, it set us up for future disappointment. We all figured that by now we would all have robot housekeepers, auto chefs to prepare our foods, and flying cars because of this show.

Scooby-Doo

Scooby-Doo is the longest running show out of all of these. It originally came out in the late '60s and still runs to this day. There have been a ton of spin-offs and variations of the show over the years, but their theme song has pretty much stayed the same.
