Estately recently put together this map showing the interesting and downright bizarre things that some states searched for more than any other on Google.. and trust me, it's weirder than you think.
This Is What People In Your State Googled Most In 2015
#1 You can usually tell what the year was like by what was searched for the most on Google. However, this year it's a little mixed, with people from each state searching for the craziest things imaginable when all of the turmoil is going on around us...
#2 For example, the people in Hawaii searched most for the term "Selfie Stick." Either they didn't know what it was, or they wanted to know how to get one.
#3 Really Wisconsin? You needed to search for "Bae"??
#4 Seems like the folks down yonder in Louisiana were a tad bit curious about Ashley Madison. Maybe they had something to hide?
#5 I'm confused now. I thought "Dad Bod" was originally a term for some guy from Boston... but they had no clue and needed to look it up.
#6 Georgian's love to dance to hip hop, and funk, as everybody knows, so it's no wonder that they had to search for the two most popular dances of 2015. Move over line dancers...
#7 We won't even ask, because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but the two most popular searches for Nevada were pro boxer Floyd Mayweather and Khloé Kardashian... Huh?
#8 The top search for the state of Ohio makes the most sense to us, since it was for marijuana legalization (a proposed constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana was not approved by voters in 2015), but the second top search was for Josh Duggar!
#9 In The Great State of Tennessee, the top search was for former State Senator and actor Fred Thompson, who passed away earlier in the year. The second top searched for thing was the NRA.
#10 In New York, the oddest things made the top of the search list... Julianne Moore, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the country of Greece. Talk about a mixed bag!
#11 Good Ole Texas just yearned for more information about Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton's divorce, as well as Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, and basketball star James Harden. What? No GUNS?
#12 Colorado is so over pot legalization... their top searched items are the Syrian civil war and water on Mars. Always one step ahead of the rest of us...
