Watching a promising child star blossom into a young adult is a pretty amazing thing. I mean, as history has often shown, child stars don't often enter adulthood gracefully. So that means when one of them still has control over their life by the time they reach 18, you can't help but feel happy for them. Perhaps no child stars have been analyzed as much as Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. From the time they were six months old, they've been living their lives on the big screen and growing into household names. #2 The babies make it big in 1987.

At just six months old, Mary Kate and Ashley were cast as Michelle Tanner on the ABC family sitcom Full House.

#3 By 1989 they were already growing into America's favorite toddlers.

Sharing the role of the youngest Tanner girl, the twin sisters were making audiences everywhere melt with their adorable antics and happy attitudes.

#4 The girls take Full House to the top in '93.

As Michelle Tanner grew into the show's most popular character, so too did the show's ratings. The world simply could not get enough of Mary-Kate and Ashley.

#5 Mary-Kate and Ashley move to bigger, better things in 1995.

With Full House coming to an end after eight seasons, many of the cast members' futures were unknown. Not the Olsen twins' though. That same year they filmed their first major motion picture It Takes Two, starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirstie Alley.

#6 In 2001 the girls find their new passion.

While still starring in their own television programs and film projects, the twins decide to take a chance and create their own fashion line.

#7 By 2006 the twins had become fashion icons.

The twins were signed as the faces of Badgley Mischka in 2006, and in 2007 created their own line, Elizabeth & James.

The girls are still running their own fashion lines and are currently considered some of the most recognized designers in the world. They've come a long way since yelling "You got it dude!" at Uncle Jesse...
