He did this experiment because he read it online that if you clean your teeth with bar soap, you can kill all the germs and in addition, remove the plaque and tartar entirely. Supposedly, these functions are performed by a bar soap better than a toothpaste.

Shannon explained the logic, "It is also supposed to help your teeth to remineralize because they have no residue on them, supposedly toothpaste has tons of glycerin in it ,which sticks to your teeth even if you rinse vigorously after you brush. Also, toothpaste contains fluoride which is supposedly toxic if used in large quantities."

After brushing his teeth for two consecutive weeks, Shannon was extremely satisfied with the result. He felt his gums were better and his teeth became whiter (at least 3 shades). Also, Shannon went to his dentist and he was also impressed by the condition of his teeth.
