This Mom Was Tired Of Her Son's Attitude - So She Sent Him An Invoice!
#1 What's the best way to teach your entitled teen a lesson? Ask him for $40,000!
#2 Every parent becomes fed up with their children's poor behavior every now and then.
Few things in life are quite as frustrating as dealing with the attitude of an entitled teenager, especially.
#3 What parent hasn't fought with their teen about money, gratitude, and respect?
Most teenagers will grow out of this phase, but some of them certainly need a bit of coaxing.
#4 Enter this mom, who came up with a completely brilliant plan to show her son that, contrary to popular belief, money doesn't grow on trees.
Raising a child is expensive work, and this kid found this fact out the hard way
by getting served with this invoice!
#5 Being healthy and educated is pretty expensive!
A post from a Redditor called Chalipo says he lived with his mom for 13 months.
During that stay, he appears not to have appreciated the relative luxury of his position.
So his mom sent him a bill.
Every service he'd been provided was itemized. It was terribly businesslike. A unit price was attached to each.
#6 You thought eating was cheap? Ha!
Tuition for five years of education -- $23,550.
Then there was: Five years of health benefit premiums (so the dentist is free @ $300 a Visit) -- $5,726.
#7 The "Being an a******" tax is my favorite.
Mom was very reasonable about certain items. She charged him a mere one-fifth of the internet and cable bills ($182 and $187.50, respectively.)
#8 Good luck paying your mom back, kid!
The charge, though, that many might find most inspirational was this: Being an
a--hole and not appreciative of your mother's support, financially or otherwise -- $1,000.
What Chalipo explained in the Reddit comments section is that he learned a few lessons from his mom's invoice.
#9 He wrote:
"This was a very effective parenting technique and it has helped me to realize what an entitled little s--- I have been. My grandparents charged my mom interest on her school tuition. I am very appreciative and grateful that she didn't include any interest."
#10 He explained that his mom didn't actually want him to pay. It's more, perhaps, that she wanted him to understand.
He said he's a full-time student, but works part-time and interns a couple of days a week. He also said that his mom's invoice had taught him that he doesn't want to be "that guy with a lack of character."
