This Pregnant Women Suddenly Slips Into A Coma. When She Finally Wakes, What She Discovers About Her Baby Will Shock You!

The English nurse Colvina Jolin is 28 years old and has been married to her husband for 2 years. This photo shows the couple during their honeymoon, which the active pair took in Peru.

They are both happy that their life as a couple would soon be share with a third, because Colvina is 23 weeks pregnant. They are both looking forward to the new child, and are preparing the house, buying baby clothes, and already thinking about the name.

But one day as she went about her normal afternoon doing the housework, she didn't know what the next few hours would bring: all at once Colvina got an unbearable headache. She was still able to grab the phone and call her husband, but then she fell unconscious. Matt didn't know what had happened to his wife so he immediately phoned emergency, who arrived within minutes.

Once on site, even the paramedics couldn't find a diagnosis, and therefore took the young woman straight to hospital with blue lights flashing and sirens blazing. In the emergency room a diagnosis was made: Colvina had suffered a massive brain haemorrhage. She needs to be taken to a specialist clinic. But the chance of surviving being transported then is just 10%. Matt must make a difficult decision - if he chooses not to move her she will definitely die; if he decides to transport her she has a higher chance of survival but the risk for his unborn daughter is higher.

Matt decides to transport her to the clinic. This proves to be the right decision. Colvina survived the move and within minutes her skull got opened and she underwent an emergency operation. The doctors now make a dramatic discovery: the pressure in her brain was so severe that the blood supply to the baby is compromised. All alarm bells are ringing and every second counts. Under immense pressure the surgical team do everything that they can to save the unborn child. They succeed and the condition of the mother and daughter both stabilise. But there is not only good news: Colvina then falls into a deep coma - and nobody knows if they'll be able to wake her.

Helplessly, her mother and husband had to watch as the weeks went by without Colvina waking up. Miraculously, the see that her hands continually twitch and seem to move towards her stomach and want to pat it. It seems at though Colvina subconsciously knows that she is carrying another life.

In the 29th week of pregnancy it's time: Colvina goes into labour even though she's still in a coma. Now the battle begins again, because a woman to give birth while still in a coma is almost impossible. "In my 13 years as a surgeon I have only witnessed this 3 times. It is a miracle when it succeeds", said the head surgeon, Dr. Andy Eynon.

And yes: the wonder takes place via caesarean section and the little Maia is welcomed into the world! Everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Matt is still torn because although he is a proud father now, nobody can give him a prognosis on how Colvina's situation will develop. They lay the child in the unknowing arms of it's mother, but there is no reaction.

Even for the little Maia, the danger is not over. The birth had cost the little girl almost all of her strength and there is a constant struggle between life and death. The little girl was resuscitated twice and spent the first few weeks in an incubator for premature babies. Matt was also at the edge of his wits. He continually wavered between the fear of immediately losing his daughter and the worry for his wife.

But 6 weeks later a wonder occurs that nobody believed any more: Colvina woke up! She immediately asked about her daughter and said "I felt that she had been born and also that she was doing well." The first time that her daughter was placed in her arms was a very touching moment. The doctors and carers can hardly believe it, everyone had to fight back their tears, and Matt suddenly looked 20 years younger. He is so delighted to finally have the most important people back in his life.

Colvina is now able to walk again, is making great process speaking again, and soon she will able to care for her little daughter. Everyone is impressed by the progress that she's made and the doctors see something like this so rarely. The Jolin's can hardly believe their luck and are thankful every day that they can live on after their drama. The little Maia is growing vibrantly and healthily and is her proud parents' treasure. She doesn't know it yet, but when she's older her parents will tell her about the wonder of her birth.
