How many pictures do you have of your car? I think I have one, maybe, from the day I brought it home from the used car lot. No one ever thinks about taking photos of their car until they REALLY need one. Like when it's stolen.
That's exactly what happened to Zaira Salazar of Sonora, Mexico. Earlier this week, Salazar's Nissan pick-up truck was snatched by car thieves. Desperate to get it back, she turned to social media. The only problem was, social media isn't very helpful in these searchers unless you can show people what the missing thing looks like. So Salazar gave Facebook the next best thing: a sketch.
The only problem is, the sketch wasn't very good. Like, any kindergartener with a 24 pack of Crayola crayons probably could have done better. Unfortunately, Salazar didn't have crayons. She did the best she could with just a pencil and some note paper, and wouldn't you know it? It actually worked. In fact, it did much more than work.
