This feature allows people to know who stalked their profiles in the last 30 days and in return the notification of their profile will go to the other party too. However, people are not happy with this feature and hope that TikTok does not make this feautre official.
TikTok is one of the most popular apps among youngsters these days. Due to its overwhelming popularity, there have always been concerns on its privacy.
Also, it is not surprising to know that owing to its powerful algorithm, the app has a long list of terms and conditions that takes forever to read.
However, the fear of privacy hasn't stopped people from using this app but a potential privacy change has sparked interest of users of this app.
Some users recently share don the platform that TikTok is planning on binging back profile views.
This feature once available, it will allow the users to know who viewed their profile within the last 30 days. However, because of its unpopularity, this feature was removed.
One TikTok user @caailyn claims that she has access to this feature again as she posted for her followers to see that the profile view feature is showing on her notifications again.
Not everyone has access to this. Some think the app is slowly rolling out the feature - similar to Instagram. But mostly, people are upset with this feautre.
People took to @caailyn's video to indicate that people want to remain anonymous when viewing others' profiles.
"wait no I'm so embarrassed right now," @user4bzibzpvzm said.
"no. I'm being completely serious when I say I will stop using this app if they bring this back for all of us," user @taybussy commented.
In another video, @caailyn shows also share with her followers that the feature can be turned on and off but those who turn it off won't be able to see who viewed their profile.
This new change has reminded the app users of the concerns regarding their privacy. The app consistently asks users to import their phone contacts to find their friends. It also collects biometric data via your voice and face, and photos and videos within your phone.
And to state, the fact that the app is owned by the Chinese tech giant, ByteDance, so the US does not have much control over who the company chooses to share users' information with, which is part of the reason former President Donald Trump tried to get the app banned.

It is still unclear if TikTok will use this feature on everyone or it is just experimenting for now as the company is yet to release an official statement regarding it.
