#1 The Lazarus Effect

Starring Evan Peters (Quicksilver of ‘X-Men' fame) and the gorgeous Olivia Wilde, this movie is about a group of medical students who discover a way of bringing dead patients back to life. So we are guessing it is going to be a zombie thriller, releasing February 27.

#2 Unfriended

Originally released as ‘Cyber natural' at the Fantasia Festival in 2014, this movie has another working title of ‘Offline' and can thus be pretty confusing to audiences. The suicide of a popular high school student comes back to haunt six of her classmates whose ridicule of her over an embarrassing video drove her to it. The film releases in theaters on April 17.

#3 Poltergeist

A reboot of the 80s movie franchise ‘Poltergeist' has been re-imagined and con-temporized for the modern audiences. A horror tale of a suburban family whose house is invaded by angry spirits, the film will release on July 24

#4 The Kitchen Sink

Not all horror movies need to be scary for instance, this comedy starring Vanessa Hudgens. Humans, zombies and vampires co-existed peacefully in the town of Dill ford but something arrives and causes them to fight against each other. It now rests upon three teenagers to get things back to the way it was. ‘The Kitchen Sink' hits theaters on September 4.

#5 The Visit

After the Will and Jaden Smith starrer ‘After Earth', M. Night Shyamalan is back with a horror comedy releasing on September 11. A single mother sends her two young kids to visit their grandparents and then finds that things in her family start going terribly wrong. The movie is creating a lot of gossip because of being made in secret on a low budget. We'll have to wait and find out what the deal is all about.

#6 Victor Frankenstein

With James McAvoy playing the famous character of Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe as his young and troubled hunchback assistant Igor, ‘Victor Frankenstein' is one of the most-awaited horror movies of 2015, releasing October 2. The story of the emergence of Frankenstein from being a young medical student to the creator of the nameless monster is told from the perspective of Igor.

#7 Crimson Peak

From the man who gave us the ‘Hellboy' movies and ‘Pan's Labyrinth' comes another horror flick this time set in the 19th century England. Starring Tom Hiddleston (yay, Loki!) and Jessica Chastain, ‘Crimson Peak' is about how a young author married to a charming man discovers he is not who he appears to be. Guillermo del Toro has himself been quoted as saying the film is "very, very disturbing, it's a proper R rating. And it's adult." The movie releases on October 16.

#8 Scouts vs. Zombies

The third horror comedy in the pipeline in 2015 is ‘Scouts vs. Zombies' and it is exactly what it sounds like a group of scouts fighting zombies on the eve of their last day of camp and trying to save their town. One reason why you should totally catch this movie when it releases on October 30 is that it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Patrick!

#9 Friday the 13th 3D

Easily one of the most popular horror/slasher film franchises, Friday the 13th has 12 films to its name spawning TV shows, novels and comic books. And now the film is all set to get another reboot this time in 3D and releasing on November 13 which, yes, is a Friday! Seat tight, Jason Voorhees is back to terrorize the life out of you.

For those who do not know, Krampus is a Christmas figure that is exactly the opposite of Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus. Unlike the fat jolly Santa who rewards the good children with gifts, this horned anthropomorphic monster punishes the naughty ones. So, next year during Christmas season, watch out for this horror flick where a scary devil seeks out the naughty and punishes them.
