Truly Horrible Things That Happened While Filming Stunts
#1 Dylan O'Brien fell off a set piece while filming Maze Runner:
The Death Cure and smashed his cheekbone to pieces.
Filming stopped in March and still hasn't started again because of his injury. OMG I hope Dylan's ok!
#2 Charlize Theron practiced a back flip for her character in Aeon Flux and ended up damaging her spinal cord.
She damaged her spinal cord. JUST LET THAT SINK IN. Filming stopped for a month and she had six weeks of physical therapy!
#3 Isla accidentally got tangled and almost drowned!
She couldn't reach the safety button and tried to signal to the crew, except they all thought she was still in character! She literally escaped death. Literally.
#4 Joseph Gordon-Levitt was brave enough to do his own stunts in Premium Rush but he accidentally hit a taxi and went through the rear windshield.
He had to get 31 stitches!
Nope to the power of nope. That sounds painful!
#5 Chloë Grace Moretz's stunt double was using a hydraulic system to perform the stunt.
It was too powerful and pulled her just an INCH too far so she cracked her head open.
Just because of that one inch, the stunt double's head wouldn't stop bleeding and she had to go to the ER!
#6 Channing Tatum swam in a river for The Eagle.
A cast member poured hot water on Channing to warm him up but it was too hot and burned his crotch!
It didn't help that he was wearing a wetsuit because it kept the burning water on his skin! OMG the pain.
#7 Milla Jovovich's stunt double for Resident Evil smashed into camera equipment and she was literally put into a medically-induced coma!
The stunt double had brain swelling and broke several bones. And she got her arm amputated. Nothing about this is good!
#8 Daniel Radcliffe's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows stunt double was practicing for a flying scene but fell to the floor and broke his neck.
He's been paralyzed every since.
...the stunt double life is insane.
#9 Jaimie Alexander slipped on a metal staircase when filming Thor:
The Dark World and chipped 11 of her vertebrae!
And we all thought it was ~glamorous~ to be an actor. #GlamorousButDangerous.
#10 Another Marvel movie injury!
Jeremy Renner was slaying it as Hawkeye in The Avengers until he ripped a muscle in his back.
It's tough acting as an Avenger!
#11 Vin Diesel's stunt double in xXx crashed into a bridge and died immediately.
Seriously, stunt doubles risk their lives for these movies!
#12 Gemma Arterton's character was supposed to get thrown through a wall.
Her stunt double did it and a rusty nail got stuck in her head!

He had to get stitches for his head and his hand!

Yes, an actual machete actually cut open his chest. OMG WTF?!
#15 Johnny Depp fell off a horse during The Lone Ranger and was dragged for 25 yards!
He was almost TRAMPLED to death. The horse literally showed Johnny that he had to ride or die.
#16 Britney's face is literally anyone who reads these set stories!
