Twitter's latest feature, publicly displays the number of users who bookmarked a tweet, has sparked mixed reactions. While some users have welcomed this change, others have criticized it, with one Twitter user humorously dubbing it the "jack-off ratio." This comes on the heels of Twitter's recent public view counter, which left many users feeling unpopular.

Unlike previous updates, Twitter broke from its traditional protocol and announced the new feature earlier this week, leaving many users surprised and uncertain about what this means for their privacy. The new feature may be unwelcome news for those who value their online privacy.

Regardless, Twitter's Musk-y overlords seem determined to keep introducing new changes to the platform, whether users like it or not.

“We love Bookmarks for saving Tweets to revisit later,” Twitter’s official support page wrote on Thursday, March 16.

“Starting today on iOS, you’ll now see the total number of times a Tweet has been bookmarked on Tweet details,” they continued, before elaborating that the depravity of your Twitter porn folders is safe (...at least for now) in a subsequent post.

Within minutes of the Twitter development team tweeting about their latest update, platform users flooded the comments section with their opinions, ranging from confusion to outright frustration.

It seems that the controversial move has not gone down well with some users, who are struggling to understand the rationale behind this new feature.

Others are concerned about the implications for their privacy, given the increased visibility of their bookmarked tweets. Despite the mixed reactions, it's clear that the Twitterverse is not holding back in sharing its thoughts on the matter.

One user, @SHABOOTY, sarcastically congratulated Twitter on their "new numbers soup,Twitter! I guess what Elon wants, Elon gets, we guess … with the notable exceptions of Grimes and a father who is actually proud of him.

This comment suggests that some users are not impressed with the increased visibility of the bookmarked tweets and are finding the new feature confusing. Some users are also concerned about the privacy implications of the new feature.

It's unclear whether this update will be popular with users, but it appears to align with the vision of Twitter's leadership team. While some users may feel that Elon Musk, one of Twitter's high-profile users, is exerting undue influence on the platform's development, others may see this as a positive step towards enhancing the user experience.

In the end, it seems that Twitter's "jack-off ratio" update has left users divided. While some are bemoaning the loss of their cherished anonymity, others are embracing the newfound transparency of the platform.

But regardless of where you fall on the "jack-off ratio" spectrum, we can all agree on one thing: we're all still hopelessly addicted to the platform, bookmark feature and all.
