In the past it used to be things like razor blades that a parent had to look out for. But now there is a warning going around social media that is giving parents a major heads up that your kids could be bringing home something very dangerous. While it may indeed look like candy, it could in fact be the drug ecstasy!

The drug will indeed appear as if it is tiny bite size sugar candy, but could turn out otherwise which naturally would be extremely dangerous for your child to ingest. The social media post warns parents that individuals may stoop to such levels this Halloween and mask these drugs as candy to be put in little kids trick or treat baskets.

Some have questioned the social media post on it’s validity, but I certainly wouldn’t put it past some nefarious individuals in society to pull a horrible act like this off. In any event, the responsible thing to do is to always inspect your kid’s candy when they get home and tell them not to eat any while they are trick or treating. Save it for when they get home so you can give it a good look over. Police stress that anything homemade, liquid or open are red flags that should be looked closely at. They have yet to issue any threat regarding ecstasy masked as candy.
