Speaking from personal experience, I can confirm that guys know very little about tampons and will choose to learn as little about them as possible. Why? Because they’re just… unsavoury. (Notice I didn’t say ‘gross’ – put your pitchforks down, subjugated feminists of the internet.)
Considering that sex education classes are commonly split in half, it’s no wonder that guys know so little about sanitary products (is that a phrase? Who knows). These conversations explain what no text book ever could – that guys don’t understand tampons and probably never will.
