#1 Something Is Missing

Getting surgery is hard enough without waking up to a missing body part. Sometimes it's stress-inducing to think you may not make it out alive after going under the knife, but for one man it was even worse than that, he woke up but he was missing something he really needed.

#2 Consultant Operates On Cyst

In April 2014, Dr. Marwan Farouk was set as a CONSULTANT to a physician operating on a man, whose name has not been disclosed, to remove a right epididymal cyst that had been troubling him for years. However, Farouk wound up performing the simple procedure himself and he somehow made a huge mistake and removed one of the man's testicles instead!

#3 Enormous Wound

The patient was left with an enormous wound and had 38 stitches after the surgery. The cyst was near his testicle and would normally require a tiny incision and a few stitches. He noticed the wounds after he woke up 28 hours after the operation. He realized that they had cut him open all the way up to his chest as well as below his inner thigh and right testicle.

#4 Told The Patient His Testicle Had Shrunk

Aware of what he did, Dr. Farouk then tried to cover-up the botched operation by pretending it was still there, but was smaller. He advised the patient not to worry, it was still functional. It was reported that he even wrote a note to the patient's general doctor, mentioning slight tissue damage, but never once bringing up accidentally removing a testicle. He then testified in front of a set of surgeons that he believed the testicle had retracted and may possibly fall back into place. He has not yet explained why the patient was cut from his thigh to his chest.

#5 Iraqi Born And Grammar School Trained

The operation took place at The Chiltern Hospital, run by BMI Healthcare, in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. Dr, Farouk is a Consultant Surgeon at two other hospitals and not the one where the operation was performed. He is Baghdad-born and educated in a grammar school in Durham, UK. He got his medical degree from the University of Bristol in 1983. He is educated in laparoscopic surgery and has never done any scrotal surgery.

#6 Medical Practitioners Tribunal

Now Dr. Farouk is set to face a panel of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal to discuss the charges brought up against him. He is now on watch and must be overseen by a supervisor on his day to day duties. He also has been restricted on surgery until he goes before the council. The charges against him state that he operated outside his area of expertise and that his actions were misleading and dishonest. Although he may be facing some stiff penalties, at least he still has both of his "boys".
