#1 Bleach + vinegar

Mixing bleach and vinegar together will make chlorine gas. Even small amounts can cause breathing problems and burning, watery eyes.

#2 Bleach + rubbing alcohol

This toxic combination creates chloroform. You know, the stuff kidnappers in the movies put on rags to knock out their victims? Well, it probably won't make you pass out, but I wouldn't make it a habit to ever mix these two.

#3 Bleach + ammonia

This combo creates chloramine. While it may sound harmless, if you inhale it, this gas can cause chest pains and shortness of breath.

#4 Castile soap + vinegar

If you mix these two together you don't create anything toxic, you just make disgusting gunk. It's not going to clean anything, but will actually just make it dirtier.

#5 Hydrogen peroxide + vinegar

Peracetic acid is the chemical reaction that mixing these two causes. Not only is it harmful and corrosive to your home's surfaces, but it can also be bad for your respiratory system and your skin.

#6 Baking soda + vinegar

While nothing bad happens when mixing these, nothing beneficial happens either. In fact, this mixture just yields water with a little salt in it...which won't really clean anything.

#7 Drain cleaner + a different drain cleaner

If one drain cleaner doesn't work to clear up your clogged pipes, it's not a good idea to throw another one down there. Toxic fumes (or worse) could come from it. It's best to just leave it to the professionals.

Well, there you have it. Some DIYs should never be done when it comes right down to it. Make share you share these tips with friends and family!
