Where Are They Now? The Weird Life Of Dog The Bounty Hunter
Introduction
I used to be obsessed with Dog The Bounty Hunter. Not only did I find it exciting to watch a man with a bleached blonde mullet chase drug addicts around, but I also thought his entire family was hilarious. It seemed like Dog was on top of the world at one point, but then he suddenly disappeared. So what has happened to Duane Chapman and his family? Well, let's take a look
What was your favorite part about the show? COMMENT and share with us.
1. He started a second show.
When Dog The Bounty Hunter was cancelled, Duane decided he wasn't quite ready to leave television. He took his talents and created Dog and Beth: On the Hunt which stayed on the air for three seasons.
2. Beth was almost arrested.
Apparently Beth had some choice words for a group of teens who were driving around their Colorado home quite loudly and dangerously. Unfortunately for Beth, insulting someone with such names is actually a criminal offense in Colorado
3. Dog opened up about his shady past.
Back in 1976, Chapman was charged and convicted of the murder of an alleged pimp and drug dealer. Dog served 18 months in prison. He's been extremely open about this time of his life and uses it to show people that turning your life around is very possible.
4. His step-daughter was arrested for robbing a bank.
Dog's stepdaughter was arrested back in 2015 for holding up the Honolulu Territorial Savings Bank.
5. He once bailed out Nicolas Cage.
Nicolas Cage was put in jail after taking part in a heated argument with his wife in public. He was later bailed out by Dog himself, who admits to being a huge Nic Cage fan.
6. Dog was sued by a rival hunter.
Bounty Hunter Charles Fisher attempted to sue Dog for $30 million after Duane and Beth apparently besmirched his character on their show. Seeing as Fisher's business was nearly bankrupt when he filed the lawsuit, the judge believed it was merely a ploy for money.
7. He predicts that Hillary Clinton will be president.
On a 2015 Fox News appearance, Dog was quite open about his political stances and said he is a huge Hillary Clinton fan.
8. He has spoken against the “stand your ground” law.
Dog never uses a gun and has found success catching criminals with nothing more than pepper spray and handcuffs. He's been super vocal about his belief that guns are an unnecessary weapon and says that the "stand your ground" law is bologna.
9. He tried buying a dog from one of the criminals he caught.
In early 2015, Dog had completed an arrest when he spotted a beautiful Great Dane in the suspect's house. Rumor has it that Dog offered up to a thousand dollars for the pooch.
10. He quit TV to save bounty hunting.
Dog decided to call it quits in 2015 and to focus more on improving the bounty hunting system. He has spent the last year fighting laws that allow bounty hunters to carry and use guns stating that they only cause unnecessary death.
