I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure miss seeing Megan Fox on the big screen. She really burst onto the scene after being cast as part of the Michael Bay Transformers franchise. The was a regular on most of the 'Hottest Women Alive' lists and her name was everywhere. However, she has pretty much fallen off of the map, and many of you, just like me, want to know what happened to her.
Where Has Megan Fox Been? Here Is The Reason You Haven't Seen Much Of Her Lately.
Over the past few years, Fox has pretty much fallen off of the map. She was fired from being part of the third Transformers movie and pretty much disappeared from Hollywood altogether after that. Sure, she has been in a few movies and made a couple of TV appearances, but nothing she has done has really been successful.
Maybe Megan just got burned out. She was thrust into the spotlight at a young age, and even she will say that she was overexposed too soon. "I was part of a movie that the studio wanted to make sure would make $700 million, so they oversaturated the media with their stars," Fox says. "I don’t want to have people get completely sick of me before I’ve ever even done something legitimate."
If only that was the reason why she just plain disappeared. Overexposure definitely played a huge part in it, though. When Fox was at the height of her popularity, in 2009, some magazines were calling for a boycott on Megan Fox to end the overexposure. However, it was Michael Bay, egged on by Steven Spielberg, who ended the young woman's career.
Apparently, Bay was not happy about some of Fox's public comments that she made about him. In her defense, she was only 23 years old and had been given more fame than she could truly handle that ended up leading her to say some things that she perhaps should not have said.
Megan described Bay as, "like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is." She continued to say that he was a nightmare to work for him on set. However, when they were off the set she described him as socially awkward and found that to be quite endearing.
Comments like those are not the kind of thing you say publicly about the person who has the power to fire you. About two years after Fox made those off-handed comments, Steven Spielberg urged Bay to fire her immediately for comparing him to Hitler.
"I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response," Bay said. "And she does it in kind of the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work 12 hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy."
Megan has apologized for her comments since then. She said that it was a low point in her career and says that her getting fired was a real-life lesson for her.
She could have prevented her firing is she has simply apologized much much sooner. Instead, she was a stubborn self-righteous 23-year-old who could not see that it would have been for the greater good. She says she thought she was Joan of Arc at that age.
Fox is now 31-years-old and a super busy mom to three kiddos. She says she never planned on being an actress for the long haul and always felt there was something more out there for her.
