#1 Speak.. Speak A Song

Two different 1970's television stars, two different television "specials," two different songs, and two different singers. Wait! What?

These two clips are retro classics. Take a look and listen to these two TV actors attempting to sing popular classics. It's hilarious!

Telly Savalas, popular at the time for his stint as TV's 'Kojak', appearing on a German show called Disco "singing" the Bread song "If". I say singing in quotes because, well, you'll just have to listen.

#2 Who Loves Ya, Baby!

This clip of Savalas is sort of creepy with the close-up shot of the blonde chick looking awkwardly on in the background on a big screen. The clip is so retro that he even lights up a cigarette before starting his performance.

#3 Beam Him Up, Scotty!

Then we have William Shatner, of Star Trek, performing Elton John's "Rocket Man" at The Science Fiction Film Awards, which he also hosted that evening. The songs writer Bernie Taupin introduces the Shat and he probably passed out when the song began. Shatner should have won a Grammy for Best Spoken Word. And a Raspberry Award for his "acting".

#4 He's Gonna Be High...

The 1970's special effects on this one were actually nicely executed for the time period but it's so weird that it gives you the creeps. Props though to the Shat Man for holding his cigarette like it's a joint. He already looks pretty high as he speaks and rambles through the song in duplicate and triplicate.

So, who sang it better? LOL.
