Police officials tracked Brook Lynn Lank through surveillance footage and her car through GPS and arrested her on charges of murder of her boyfriend. Her vehicle reportedly had splattered blood on it and when officials inquired she said she tried cleaning it up, but, "I obviously did not do a very good job."
A 24-year-old Pennsylvania woman is accused of brutally murdering her boyfriend in a rental car and then dumping his dead body in an alley.
As per the statement, Allegheny County Police received a call on March 13 at 6:29 a.m. about a deceased male in Derby Alley.
The first responders located a male with a gunshot wound to his head, and the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit arrived on the scene to begin an investigation.
The police identified the man's girlfriend Brook Lynn Lank as a suspect in the shooting and arrested her at 7:45 p.m. on March 14 on charges of criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse.
As per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which cites court documents, the girlfriend told police that she got in an argument with 22-year-old Anthony Lofton, while she was driving and he was in the passenger seat.
Lofton reportedly asked her to take him to McKeesport because he wanted to make a drug deal.
They kept on arguing and Lofton threatened Lank with a gun. Before that, she reached the gun and shot him clear in the head.
She then allegedly shot him two more times when she saw he was still breathing.
According to the court documents, Lank threw the gun out the window after shooting and called Germell Phillips and asked him to help her dump Lofton’s body.
Phillips has not been charged with a crime.
As per Trib Live, police officers tracked down Lank with the help of surveillance footage and traced her car through GPS tracking.
The vehicle also had blood on some of the seats. Lank said she went back to her North Side home and cleaned up the car, but told police, "I obviously did not do a very good job."
