Woman Arrested After 7-month-old 'Critically Ill' Baby Rushed To Hospital From Nursery
A woman was arrested after a seven-month-old baby was brought to the hospital, which sparked a major police investigation.
On September 21, the anonymous woman was detained on suspicion of section 18 assault and child cruelty.
The kid had become dangerously ill when police were summoned to the scene at the Kids Around The Clock nursery in Oldham.
She is still in the hospital, but she is stable.
The 30-year-old woman has been released on bond, but the Manchester Evening News reports that she is under tight conditions after being interrogated.
On the joint inquiry, Greater Manchester Police, Oldham Council, and Ofsted are all cooperating.
After the event, a notice informing visitors that the nursery's services had been suspended by Ofsted was posted on the door.
It said: “The suspension runs from September 27, 2022, to November 7, 2022, and applies to childcare provided for young children from birth to August 31 (and) older children (and) children aged eight to their 18th birthday or any other childcare which doesn't require registration with Ofsted.”
“The purpose of suspension is to allow time to investigate our belief that a child may be exposed to a risk of harm and for any necessary steps to be taken to eliminate or reduce the risk of harm.”
“We will regularly review the situation and will stop the suspension thin this period if we believe children are no longer at risk.”
“The law requires a provider registered on the general childcare register to display this notice at the relevant premises where they are registered to provide care.”
A spokesman for Ofsted told local media: “We have suspended the nursery while other agencies conduct their inquiries. We are unable to comment further at this time.”
