Woman Arrested For Running Over Tesco Employee In Parking Lot

A video showing a woman driving erratically in a parking lot went viral in the UK. The video shows a woman behind the wheel of a Citroen C3 ramming into passers-by as the attempted to stop her from fleeing the scene.

Lucy Turner who had shoplifted from the Rickmansworth was attempting to flee the scene of the crime when Danielle Wood attempted to stop her from escaping.

It was then that Ms Turner drover over Ms Wood leading to severe back injuries.

The video captured the aftermath of the situation with people in the parking lot screaming at Ms Turner to vacate the vehicle as pieces fell off the machine.

Ms Wood expressed that she was fearful of the situation and was worried about the injury to her back.

"I was in agony. I knew I had broken my back. I was screaming 'My back, my back!'" she said. She has not been able to return to work since the incident.

Ms Turner was accompanied by two individuals who attempted to steal £174 worth of alcohol. While she was able to escape the scene of the crime, she was charged to 3 years and 2 months in prison.

Detective Constable Rob King stated,

“Turner showed complete disregard for the shoppers’ safety and only thought about herself when she chose to drive that car in such a dangerous manner.

"The victim bravely tried to intervene but Turner callously used the vehicle as a weapon, causing the victim to fall to the ground and suffer a serious injury to her back."

Ms Turner has additionally been charged for theft on two different occasions other than this one.
