A woman urged women to check their purses when coming back home after finding a tracking tile in her purse. The TikToker who says she doesn't normally carry a purse was shocked to find this gadget in the middle of her belongings.
A TikTok user Sheridan Ellis got a really creepy shock when she decided to check her purse after coming back from a day out.
After finding a tracking tile in her belongings, she quickly removed the batteries and made a video telling people to be careful.
Sheridan explained in the video that she didn't normally carry a purse.
"This weekend on Saturday I went to dinner with a group of friends for this girl's birthday. If you know me I don't normally carry a purse, but on Saturday I did because we had decorations and stuff for the table."
"Anyways, at the end of the night, I'm cleaning my purse out and... I find this. If you don't know what this is, it's a Tile. It's basically a tracker, people put it on their keys and whatnot."
Most women who use purses on the daily, don't clean their purses out after use.
"It's not mine. I don't know how it got in my purse. I immediately took the battery out, don't worry. But yeah... Check your purses and stay safe out there."
She said that she didn't know who the tile belonged to or who put it there and that it was terrifying to think someone may have been tracking her.
Her PSA which was titled 'New Fear Unlocked' was viewed over 1m times.
She said that she had already checked among the guests to see if they had lost one but no one claimed that tile.
Commenters told her that the police had the technology to trace who had purchased the tile initially and could find out the culprit for her.
Other suggested she take matters into her own hands and get a strong friend involved.
A commenter also shared that they had the exact tile and that they had a range of 200 feet. This is because the tiles use Bluetooth technology rather than GPS.
