But recently she shared a story about what happened when she went to a salon to cover up her gray hairs.

She asked for an all-natural, chemical-free henna dye, and informed the colorist that she is allergic to Paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a substance which is in almost every hair dye.

She was assured that the henna that was being used was safe from PPD, but shortly after rinsing it out, her face told a different story.

Even though she was told the henna was free of chemicals, that was clearly not the case. In addition to the severe pain, burning, and itching, Chemese's face was so swollen that she was unable to see for two days.

Chemese has openly shared her weight loss transformation on her blog and was upset that the medical issue overshadowed the other work she was doing.
Though was considerably better a week after the bad hair experience, she was still experiencing itchiness, dry skin, and spots on her face.

Chemese shared her story on her Instagram page to let everyone know that she was okay. "My doctor was afraid that it was going to start affecting my breathing which didn't happen and as of today my eyes are open and I can see again but my face is still very swollen (I don't look like myself). I'm not in any more pain and I feel things are heading in the right direction. I hate that this had to happen but now I'm even more focus on making sure that my health is number one priority."
Chemese's story reminds us all to be careful and always use a trustworthy cosmetologist.
