Jessica Louise Laverack was petrified when her abusive ex traced her down even when she moved 50 miles to escape him. Her abusive ex not only traced her down but also sent her a letter. It is reported that Jessie had told the officials that she was scared of leaving her home because her ex had found her whereabouts.
Jessica Louise Laverack, known as Jessie, moved more than 50 miles to escape her abusive ex-boyfriend after 'he turned up unannounced at her new home.'
An inquest heard that the woman was really scared and she moved to East Yorkshire from Rotherham in 2017, to escape her ex-boyfriend Patrick Walsh.
Jessie had moved countries, still, her ex-boyfriend was able to find her and sent her a letter before turning up unannounced in September 2017.
Ms Laverack, 34, was tragically found dead in Beverley on February 2, 2018.
The cause of her death is not established yet and it is not confirmed if her ex-boyfriend was involved in it.
Her death was subject to a domestic homicide review - the first of such case in the East Riding.
An inquest at Hull Coroners Court looked into the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death on Wednesday.
The court was told that the woman had moved her area during the summer of 2017 to escape Mr. Walsh, who was a violent man and allegedly abused her and grabbed her by the throat.
He denies any allegations of abuse against his former girlfriend, but the inquest heard that he showed up in September after writing her a letter.
The inquest also heard that Mr. Walsh tried to take Jessie's pet dog forcefully, which was the only reason why she turned down one place as it didn't allow pets.
Jessie's case was classed as 'high risk' at an East Riding Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference MARAC on September 5.
An East Riding Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership worker noted in the course of her interactions with Jessie that she reported being 'petrified' and scared of leaving her home after Mr Walsh had found out where she lived.
It was also recorded that Jessie had suicidal thoughts during Autumn 2017 and had been in touch with mental health services.
