After purchasing the coffee from a nearby Dunkin' Donuts in Sugar Hill, Georgia, the woman claimed to have significant second and third-degree burns as a result of the spill.

The event happened in February 2021 because the cup's lid was not securely fastened, according to her lawyer Benjamin Welch of Morgan & Morgan.

Her thighs, groin, and abdomen are said to have burned as a result of the spill.

Since then, the woman has needed numerous skin grafts, and her continuous medical costs have surpassed $200,000.

According to her attorney, the woman claims that as a result of the incident, she still has difficulty going about her daily life and needs to apply creams and ointments multiple times a day.

America may run on Dunkin', but our client had to re-learn how to walk due to the severity of her burns,” Welch said in a statement.

“Her burns were so severe that she spent weeks in the burn unit at Grady Health and has had to entirely alter the way she lives her life. Walking still causes her pain [and] she can’t go out in the sun.”

Restaurants will be "held accountable for their negligence and [should] work harder to ensure the utmost safety when it comes to the food and drinks they serve," according to a representative for the law company.

Last month, a TikToker went viral for revealing the ingredients of one of the tastiest-looking new products on the menu, causing a less costly setback for Dunkin Donuts.

Social media users were taken aback by the donut makers' new frozen coffee drink with a pumpkin flavor due to its excessive sugar level.

It appears that the Pumpkin Swirl Frozen Coffee contains 930 calories and 185 grams of sugar, or 46 teaspoons.

Although a lot of us say we have a sweet tooth, Flavcity, a TikTok user, claims that the drink is actually equivalent to 14 glazed donuts.

“Who the f—k thought it was a good idea to put this on the menu?” the TikToker said during the video.

To be fair to the company, the drink does appear to be really tasty.

A large frozen coffee drink has 261kcal, while a standard drink has 208kcal, according to the Dunkin Donuts website.

These are far from the calorific highs of the Pumpkin Swirl Frozen Coffee.

Safety, transparency, and responsiveness to consumer concerns are crucial for a positive image and long-term success.

Dunkin' Donuts' response to these incidents will shape their future in the industry.

It also contributes to the wider conversation on safety and nutrition in the food and beverage sector.
